About Nicola Prentis
Nicola thinks she's been in ELT 12 years but it's actually more like 20, first teaching and then as a materials writer with two award-winning graded readers, a speaking skills book for Collins plus bits and pieces of texts in other books and materials and she's written well over 200 pages of the British Council Learning English website. Her interest in investing came about almost by accident when she began looking at her own woeful finances and she now supplements her income through investing and runs a course for beginner investors at www.chilledinvestor.com
About her work:
Investing is the logical step for entrepreneurs but do you know anything about it? The aim of investors and entrepreneurs is to earn more income and divorce earnings from selling your time. But what you DO with those earnings is the other side of the entrepreneurship coin. Also, the things that hold people back from starting their own business are the same things an entrepreneur tackles: a leap into the unknown, fear of risks, lack of practical knowledge and not knowing the platforms. Yet investing is actually much easier than launching a business once you know how.
She covers one of the most fundamental reasons investing works and one vital question you need to ask before putting your money into anything. She helps teachers address some beliefs that are stopping you from investing earnings from your business and growing your money passively.
