Once upon a time, you had a teaching job.
You used to teach at a school, get paid, and that was that.
Today, the reality is different.
Precarity in teaching has made relying on a school paycheck unsustainable.
Earning your own income isn’t just a nice-to-have—it’s a necessity.
The question is:
How do you actually make it work?
YOU are passionate about education and fully committed to embarking on a teaching business journey to make a difference in your client’s lives.
But despite your dedication, do you sometimes feel stuck on a treadmill — working harder but not necessarily smarter?
You are probably struggling to …
01
Convey the value of what you offer
leaving potential clients uncertain about why they should work with you or pay your desired rates.
02
Charge the prices you deserve
feeling unsure how to communicate the worth of your services confidently.
03
Move away from solely offering 1:1 lessons
even though you know it’s not sustainable for your time and energy
(not to mention your client’s progress).
04
Attract new clients consistently
making it difficult to maintain a steady stream of income.
05
Augment your income
to build the life you truly want without burning yourself out.
06
Create an offer or course
that helps your clients achieve their desired transformation through a clear, actionable process.
Pinpoint the exact (non-linguistic) problem you solve
for your clients, ensuring your services meet their specific needs.
07
We know these challenges can leave you feeling overwhelmed and have you questioning if running a teaching business is the right decision for you.

But there’s a better way forward
Transform Your Teaching Business with Our TAP Program
Here’s How:
01
Convey the value of what you offer
We help you clearly communicate the value of your teaching services so potential clients understand why you’re the perfect fit for their needs.
Example:
Instead of saying, “I teach group English lessons online,” say, “I help IT business professionals master workplace communication in 90 days to advance their careers.”
02
Charge the prices you deserve
Gain the confidence and tools to set prices that reflect the true value of your services while attracting the right clients.
Example:
Learn how to create result-oriented pricing, such as offering a package for $600 that includes a program, 1:1 coaching, and personalized feedback.
03
Move away from solely offering 1:1 lessons
We show you how to diversify your business by creating scalable offers, like courses or online workshops, so you can serve more students without working longer hours.
Example:
Transition from teaching 10 individual students to hosting a 6-week course for 20 students at $200 each, doubling your revenue while freeing up time.
04
Attract new clients consistently
Our TAP program shows you proven strategies to market your services and build a steady stream of clients who align with your goals.
Example:
We teach you the rule of five 1’s for lean client acquisition. Choose:
ONE problem you solve,
for ONE ideal client,
using ONE social media platform,
ONE conversion method,
for ONE year.
No hopping between platforms, tweaking offers, or switching audiences — just consistent action to build momentum and attract the right clients.
05
Augment your income without burning out
We’ll help you create multiple streams of income so you can build the life you want while maintaining balance.
Example:
Combine courses, digital products (e.g., an online course on decoding listening), and consulting services to generate consistent monthly revenue that is aligned with your financial goals.
06
Create an offer or course that delivers real results
Learn how to design courses and programs with a clear, actionable framework that helps your clients achieve their desired transformation.
Example:
Develop a 12-week course, “Communicate Confidently in Meetings,” with step-by-step task-based lessons, weekly assignments, and measurable goals for participants.
07
Pinpoint the exact problem you solve for your clients
We guide you in identifying the specific (non-linguistic) problems your clients face and positioning yourself as the solution.
Example:
Market yourself as the expert who helps professionals overcome the fear of public speaking in 6 weeks, rather than simply offering “Online English lessons.”

The TAP Solution
*
The TAP Solution *
It takes 12 months to really get your business up and running from scratch.
There is no quick fix.
But with a dedicated plan of action, your first 12 months lead to the next five years.
We break this into 4 quarters.
In each quarter, we help you accomplish crucial benchmarks to advance your business forward.
Here’s how it works:
Your Quarter 1 outcomes:
First, you get proof of concept on an initial idea - making sure there’s a real demand for your offer or course.
Then, you adopt an “Accelerate to Fail” mindset - using quick, action-oriented steps to learn what works and eliminate what doesn’t.
Finally, you prove to yourself that you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur - laying the foundation for long-term success in your business.
Your Quarter 2 outcomes:
First, you create a polished, market-ready offer or course.
Second, you validate that people will pay you for this offer or course.
Finally, you gain confidence in the thing you sell - an essential foundation for your future success.
Your Quarter 3 outcomes:
Establish the core principles and systems that will guide your business for the next decade.
Face and overcome your first real obstacles as you step outside your immediate network of leads to generate revenue - building resilience and know-how to handle future challenges.
Your Quarter 4 outcomes:
Shift your focus to big-picture monetization, thinking strategically about how to scale and sustain your business.
Serve diverse clients within your niche by offering tailored solutions, such as premium or entry-level options, to meet their needs while increasing your revenue.
Prove to yourself that you are not just a teacher but a true entrepreneur, ready to start planning for the next 5 years of growth and success.
As you apply these concepts, you’ll have lots of questions and want clarity on your implementation.
We’re here every step of the way.
Here’s an excerpt of a coaching call inside the TAP community:
Who is TAP for?
Not everyone is going to be a good fit for the TAP program.
You’re a good fit for TAP if:
✅ You have specific goals you’re striving towards
✅ You know you’ll need to experiment and pivot when necessary
✅ You embrace a scientific mindset
✅ You are not seeking instant gratification or results
✅ You know TAP is a tool and you’ll need to use it
✅ You are willing to reach out for help when you get stuck
✅ You can follow and implement a plan
✅ Your goal is to build a successful business and not become famous
You’re not a good fit for TAP if:
❌ You’re not willing to do the unsexy work that’s required to run a business.
❌ You’re expecting us to just tell you exactly what to do every minute of every day.
❌ You’re expecting TAP to be the only business resource you will ever need
❌ You’re more focused on growing your social media than creating something people want to buy
❌ You think the first product you create will be your last
Further to that, three questions you should know the answers to:
1. What is your long-term goal?
2. What is your short-term goal?
3. What do you need help with to achieve #2?
“Will this work for me?”
Step 1: Define what “work for me” means in your context.
Step 2: Ask yourself “am I prepared to do the work required to achieve my goals?”
With that in mind, while we don’t make income guarantees, what we do guarantee is:
we guarantee you will have their first 5 clients within 45 days
we guarantee you will be in a position to earn recurring income within 3 months
we guarantee you will have a sustainable business model and understanding of how to run it within 6 months
we guarantee we’ll only work with clients we believe we can get results for
we guarantee we'll give all of our clients the exact same level and duration of support
we guarantee we will review your work and give you constructive feedback to improve
we guarantee we will meet with you weekly
we guarantee we will help you build all pillars of a successful business

Founder
Leo has worked as a teacher, trainer, academic director, and ELT consultant in five different countries since 2000.
He has delivered courses in all levels of ESL, ESP, EAP, TOEFL, IELTS, CAE, CPE, and Business English. This experience has enriched his knowledge of what it takes to create an environment that fosters learning above all. Along with his classroom experience, he has also worked as a curriculum designer and syllabus designer. He has been delivering both pre- and in-service professional development sessions at local and international conferences.
In 2018 he left his teaching job to start Learn YOUR English with Andrew and Mike. Since then, they’ve been helping teachers implement Task-based approaches, design their own course, and grow their own businesses.
In his leisure time, Leo enjoys reading, playing soccer with his son, and learning new things.

He also produces LYE’s podcast, Teacher Talking Time, which offers long-form interviews with scholars and researchers on second language acquisition and teaching approaches.
Throughout his career, Andrew has taught English, trained teachers, founded two startups, and launched the shockingly successful satirical blog El Pejibaye.

He then moved on to China and Japan where he assumed a variety of ESL teaching and administrative roles. Since returning to Canada, he has taught EAP at universities and continues to develop curriculum for a variety of English language programs. Our philosophy is to challenge the status quo, relentlessly search for new solutions and processes, and deliver world-class client service so teachers can build their own careers confidently.
We are:
Teachers, too. We’re on the ground with you.
Multi entrepreneurs (we walk the walk).
Client capped: we give personal support to everyone.
It all started when we grew frustrated with the status quo. We observed a lack of creativity, ingenuity, and drive in the field of English Language Teaching. We began to question the way things were done, looking at the bigger picture and asking ourselves, “why do we do what we do in the classroom?”
From there, we applied different approaches, experimented with techniques, and really put our students’ needs first. Applying this within the constraints of an institution is extremely difficult.
So, we burned out.
We left our teaching jobs to redesign our careers with more focus on purpose.
We moved online and soon realized there were many other teachers just like us. Those who were tired of being overworked, underpaid, undervalued, and who had to work overtime just to help their students.
Since 2020, we’ve been running our private online community for teachers who want to make a difference, run their own business, and put their students first - but in a smart, efficient way.
At LYE, we firmly believe that complacency has no place in education. We strive to foster a community of teachers who challenge themselves to constantly learn, grow, and take risks in their education.
So far, we’ve helped hundreds of teachers work less, earn more, and build a teaching career on their own terms.

FAQs
-
Most clients we work with are at the very beginning of their entrepreneurial journey or haven’t started. If this is you, you’re in good hands.
We’ll spend the first 90 days helping you conceptualize your north star, researching the problem you solve, testing it, and securing your first 5 clients.
-
Absolutely. We even run consistent tech-based workshops to help you.
With that said, we also emphasize a “tech lite” approach to building a business. This allows you to focus on helping clients and not how to spending time learning how to add a cross blur to your latest reel.
Other than some light email systems and a landing page, we don’t recommend using a lot of tech (unless you really want to).
-
We answer this in three ways:
How many hours per week can you dedicate to achieving your goals?
From where are you starting?
How do you define “results”?
It’s different for each client, but starting from the beginning, we’ll help you solidify your offer and enroll 5 clients within 45 days.
For clients who already have an offer and struggle getting clients, we can do some tweaks more quickly.
Look at Vendy here, who we helped 3x his income within a month: https://vimeo.com/1057081864/7c54eaa2f1?share=copy

No.
Passive income is largely a myth unless you have a large team behind you. When most people think of passive income, they think of fulfillment (no 1:1 lessons or client facing activities). But there are very active components in client acquisition.
Regardless, an offer simply means the thing that you sell. Whether you want to have a more high-touch or lower-touch approach to your business, that is up to you.
We help you build an offer the way that most aligns with your vision.
But no, don’t think an offer means passive income.
-
TAP is not self-paced. As part of your onboarding, we together create benchmarks and targets to hit your objectives. We then help you do it.
How you apply your time to implement that is up to you, but everything is based on your goals and your timeline.
We are a high-touch program, which means we meet at least weekly, you get feedback, and DM support to ensure consistency and faster results.
-
A few things happen immediately:
You gain access to our Skool platform
We send you your benchmark plan for the first 90 days
You can begin utilizing the resources immediately
We onboard you within the platform and get you started on your first objectives
You can begin networking with other members
-
